about this gathering
Vikerteraapia mõttekoda and Festheart invite you to a discussion circle to explore how movies and art impact our mental health. everyone is welcome to share or simply listen. the conversation will be encouraged by Laura Barbo and Joelle Marcelle Antson, with personal and professional insights shared by Lisa Kõllamõts and Jim Ashilevi.
what to expect
- an open, voluntary space where you choose how deeply to participate (or just listen)
- exploration of the role art and culture play in preserving or breaking LGBT+ mental health
- discussion on why we need LGBT+ films and whether Festheart helps support our mental well-being
- insights on the community’s role in supporting LGBT+ mental health
speakers and facilitators
- Laura Barbo — psychologist at Papaver center with a BA in psychology-counseling from Arden University. she has extensive experience in peer counseling, LGBT+ community cohesion, and wrote her thesis on minority stress and Estonian LGBT+ experiences with mental health professionals.
- Joelle Marcelle Antson — Strozzi Institute somatic coach, bodyworker, and restorative justice trainer. Joelle supports LGBT+ and neurodivergent people and women in embodying their authentic truth, combining politicized somatics, restorative justice, and systemic family and relational therapy.
- Lisa Kõllamõts — psychology BA from Tallinn University, currently pursuing a psychology MA at Tartu University, and facilitator of Q-Space support groups for LGBT+ people across Estonia.
- Jim Ashilevi — creator of literature, theater, song lyrics, film, and video games who explores the balance between weight and lightness. his latest book, “Inimese kostüüm”, touches on friendship, depression, reconciliation, and longing.
